Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has opened registration for the fifth edition of the landmark Football Management Diploma (FMD) programme under the AFC Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE).

The programme, which was launched in November 2021, marked the graduation of its inaugural batch in December 2022 where representatives of the Confederation’s Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) as well as the Continent’s larger football ecosystem were given the opportunity to hone their skills as future leaders of Asian football.

Following the inaugural edition in November 2021, the second batch commenced in January 2022, while the third and fourth instalments kicked off in the months of May and October respectively and has continued to attract participants from all over the world.

The FMD programme is targeted at middle and senior management of the AFC’s MAs, RAs as well as independent stakeholders, and comprises in-class lessons and discussions, and challenges participants to enhance their abilities to operate and execute their duties as administrators in Asian football.

The educational course spreads over 12 core modules, namely, the Organisation of World Football, International Sports Federations, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Income Generation, Media & Communications, Event Management, Operational Management, HR Management, Child Safeguarding & Social Responsibility, Sports Law, and Club Licensing.
