Hosted and facilitated by the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD), the programme kicked off today with 29 participants who come from the Association, clubs and other key football stakeholders.

This marks the expansion of the hybrid system to a fourth MA, following the previous launches in the Kyrgyz Republic, Indonesia and Turkmenistan as the AFC continues to provide accessible, high-quality education to Asian football administrators via bespoke processes and tools, while ensuring they remain connected to their local football environments.

Participants will complete their online learning component alongside three onsite blocks before graduating in December, benefiting from a flexible learning format designed to encompass both theoretical knowledge and practical insights into the modern football ecosystem.

They can look forward to a total of 12 modules that will address key areas of football administration, management and leadership, including guest lectures on women’s empowerment in football. Interactive learning activities, group discussions and practical case studies are integral components, with participants encouraged to exchange experiences, share insights and learn from one another.

AFC Deputy General Secretary – Member Associations Vahid Kardany said: “The launch of the ACFAM here in Bandar Seri Begawan reflects the AFC’s continued commitment to building a stronger and more professional football community in Brunei Darussalam, which aligns with our mission to enhance the capabilities of our Member Associations and their stakeholders.

“Effective administration, management and leadership in football are essential in building sustainable and professional structures. Through ACFAM, we equip participants with a valuable opportunity to enhance their practical knowledge and skills in these areas to not only benefit themselves, but also their organisations and the wider Brunei Darussalam football family.”

The ACFAM initiative underscores the AFC’s commitment to developing the people and structures that underpin the continued growth of football across the Continent and is part of a suite of widely-acclaimed educational programmes under the AFC’s Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE),  including AFC Certificate in Football Leadership, AFC Certificate in Child Safeguarding, AFC Club Management Programme, AFC Certificate in Strategy and Planning, and the AFC Empowering Women in Football Programme.
