Jakarta: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has brought its milestone AFC Certificate in Football Administration and Management (ACFAM) hybrid programme to Jakarta for a second consecutive year, further underlining its determination to enhance the professional capabilities of Indonesia’s football administrators and stakeholders.
The sophomore run will once again be delivered in collaboration with Garuda Academy and the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), following the successful conclusion of the inaugural edition in January.
This upcoming iteration brings together 30 participants from across Indonesia, clubs and other key stakeholders, and combines online learning with two onsite blocks to offer a flexible and interactive learning experience.
Running through to November, the programme covers six modules: Football Governance, Professional Club Licensing, Content Creation, Income Generation, Strategic Management and Financial Management, and provide a broader understanding of the key administrative, operational and strategic areas that drive today’s football organisation, helping participants boost management capacity and contribute to the long-term development of football in Indonesia and across Asia.
Interactive learning activities, group discussions and practical case studies will allow participants to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world scenarios, while offering opportunities to exchange experiences, share perspectives and learn from one another.
AFC Deputy General Secretary – Member Associations Vahid Kardany said: “The continued delivery of ACFAM in Indonesia is a testament to the continuous commitment of Garuda Academy and PSSI towards developing capable, skilled football leaders and reinforcing the foundations of the game.
“Football in Indonesia continues to evolve, and strengthening the expertise of the individuals working across the game is essential to building an ecosystem that keeps up with the increasingly complex demands of football administration.
“We are delighted to bring this back to Jakarta, and look forward to seeing our participants leverage the ACFAM curriculum to uplift their organisations and make meaningful contributions to Indonesian football.”
Launched in 2023, the ACFAM programme comes under the AFC’s acclaimed Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE), which ensures the Confederation’s leaders are fully equipped with administrative abilities and specific skill sets to oversee daily operations in football organisations. The hybrid format was launched for the first time in the Kyrgyz Republic last April, with subsequent expansions to Indonesia, Turkmenistan and Brunei Darussalam.
Other groundbreaking education-first ACE initiatives include AFC Certificate in Football Leadership, AFC Certificate in Child Safeguarding, AFC Club Management Programme, AFC Certificate in Strategy and Planning and the AFC Empowering Women in Football Programme.
